Cramps in early pregnancy, although one of the most typical complaints of every pregnant woman should still not be ignored completely; while it is not always serious especially if it is only mild, being vigilant is still one of the things that you need to keep up with when you are pregnant.

There are several reasons that can be causing the cramps in early pregnancy. One cause of cramping is because of the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterine wall. Simple cramps should not be taken seriously especially if it fades away naturally. However, if it is accompanied by spotting or mild bleeding, you need to be aware that it is an indication of implantation bleeding.

Usually, you feel cramping within the lower abdomen because the uterus is expanding in order to give sufficient space for the growing embryo – your soon to be baby. Also, the ligaments supporting the uterus consequently need to stretch so as to sustain the growing uterus with your baby inside.

All common cramping in early pregnancy are manifestations of what is going on inside your womb. As long as it is only mild and not going serious enough to be cause of concern, you should continue with your daily activities and make sure that you are following a healthy lifestyle, having enough rest, and eating healthy foods during pregnancy.  It is also advisable to try to refrain from making love with your partner because it might heighten the cramping and result to slight bleeding or spotting.

Cramps in early pregnancy are not unusual complaints among pregnant women. It is natural to go through short-term spells of cramps when you are pregnant, but in case you notice and feel severe, intolerable cramping, then it would be best to visit your doctor without more ado.  Always learn by heart that you need to take good care of your health all throughout your pregnancy days, seeing that the life of your baby depends on it.
